Sydney-Tasmania-Sydney-New Zealand

hello people,

i think it's time for me (georgia) to update the blog. haven't done it for a while! and in english again, makes it easier for some people to read it ;-)

we are in kiwiland! we arrived here yesterday. snif snif bye bye australia :-( three months have gone by, so we were forced to leave the country... otherwise we would have stayed there ;-)

so what's up?? we took the plane from sydney to hobart last sunday and stayed in tassie for four days. WOW that was amazing! tassie is a whole different place, it's so quiet and peaceful there, and quiet, and quiet... and the people there are extremely nice and helpful. well aussies are nice in general but in tassie they are even nicer! unbelievable! we've visited some national parks there, tasman national park, freycinet NP (beautiful lookout over wineglass bay), mount field NP (waterfalls), cradle mountain - lake st claire NP. it was nice there, four days were certainly not enough!

we returned to sydney on thursday morning (flight was at 6.20 in the morning, what kinda time is that?!) and spent practically the whole day at the internet cafe looking for a campervan in NZ. most of the vans were not available due to the upcoming easter holidays. but we did succeed in finding a campervan eventually... a real campervan again, one with airco, fridge, and radio! yeah music is very very nice when driving :-)

friday was our last day in Oz (snif snif) and we saved the best for last... THE BRIDGE CLIMB!!! WOW that was amazing! it was soooo cool! the view over sydney harbour was fantastic! it was a beautiful sunny day with a nice cool breeze, clear view, not too hot and certainly not cold! in the beginning i was quite nervous (as i always am when doing new things) but it was not scary at all. we climbed ladders with cars underneath our feet and trains on the other side... WOW! 132m above sea level on the arch, we can definitely recommend this to u, and if bruce climbed the bridge, YOU should definitely do it ;-)

saturday was our flight to auckland and today is our second day here. we went to the sky tower, the main deck (220m above the ground) and again a beautiful view over the city. we also went to the kelly tarlton's antarctic encounter & underwater world. we saw penguins (mumble!) , some sharks, lots of fish of course (NEMO!, again). very cool!

tomorrow we're going to pick up our van and then we're off to explore the country. we keep u posted! see ya later. enjoy the pics!

greetz,
georgia & jeroen

p.s. CONGRATULATIONS to kaling!

p.s.s. steph, als je het zo mooi vindt hier, dan kom je toch gewoon langs? Oz en NZ is groot genoeg hoor, of je regelt toch dat de volgende studiereis naar sydney gaat?
