day 1. the airplane that brought us etosha N.P. (northern part of namibia). we don't do long boring distances by car obvioulsy ;)
3rd day. on our way from etosha N.P. to palmwag, the northwest of namibia. we were travelling in a small group. it was only me, plus S & D from the states. nice people. we had a a LOT of FUN!! :)
day 4 & 5 were spent in koakoland, in the far northwest corner of namibia. to reach our camp we had to cross the hoanib river. and that's where we got stuck @#$% 3hours to pull the damn landrover out... but all's well that ends well... it's all part of the adventure, i guess ;) we did see some giraffes near the river which was very very nice indeed :) ... it is a nice place, if you're not stuck that is.
day 6. long day. the journey continued to damaraland, in the west of the namibia... home of the desert adapted elephants. they were a bit far, but still, we found them!!! :) we also went to twyfelfontein to see the ancient bushmen rock paintings.
day 7. from damaraland to swakopmund, a coastal town, where all namibians spend their holidays. namibia has beaches too. well on this picture it looks more like the shitty beaches we have in holland, but it is nice on a warm sunny day :)
day 8. in the morning we did some kayaking in walvis bay with seals and dolphins :) hundreds of seals, up close and personal :) BUT i got seasick so i wasn't really having fun (that's a forced smile on the pic ;)). after the kayak trip we went to sossusvlei which made me feel better again :)
day 9 in sossusvlei.
some pics from my second time in sossusvlei. one can NEVER get bored of the sand dunes! i went to sossusvlei again for a weekend, and it was just as good as the first time. or even better. we went to deadvlei with all the dead trees, climbed the sossusvlei dune, and dune 45, one of the highest dunes. the view was AMAZING!!
i went back to etosha during my last week in namibia. rainy season came to an end and the game in the park was everywhere :)
